St. John's wort - Hypericum perforatum L.
St. John's wort is a unique medicinal plant known as the "remedy for 99 diseases".
A perennial herbaceous plant up to 80 cm high. The stem is ribbed, smooth, branched in the upper part.
Leaves are 1-3 cm long, entire, sessile, with numerous glands.
The flowers are large, golden-yellow, collected in a broadly paniculate inflorescence. Blooms in July-August.
The upper third of the flowering plant is used as a spice.
St. John's wort is added to tinctures and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as to tea.

Agrotechnics
Seeds are sown in early spring in open ground to a depth of 1-2 cm or in autumn on seedling beds. Seedlings are thinned according to the 20x45 cm scheme.
If the seeds are sown in February-March for seedlings, preliminary stratification will be required:
sow seeds to a depth of no more than 0.5 cm, moisten from a sprayer, cover with glass and place in the refrigerator (temperature +5...+7°C).
Crops are kept in such conditions for 10-15 days, then transferred to room conditions (it is necessary to monitor the moisture of crops and ventilation).
At a temperature of +18...+20°C, seedlings appear in 10-14 days. If there is no germination - repeat the "cold-warm" method in the same sequence!
Seedlings are pricked out into boxes in the phase of 2-3 true leaves. Seedlings are planted in open ground after 4-6 weeks.
Prefers sunny places or light partial shade with loose, non-acidic soil. Can grow in one place for 5-7 years.

* Herbs for depression.
Depression can occur for many reasons...
Conditionally, these reasons can be divided into external (social) and internal (psychological).
External – this is the lack of work or prospects, the presence of psychological pressure, the loss of a loved one.
Internal reasons – this is the lack of a goal and meaning in life.
To eliminate these reasons, it is necessary to take responsibility for your condition and your life, as well as seek the help of a psychologist or a priest...
From the perspective of physiology, depression can be caused by insufficiency of cerebral circulation and heart problems.
To get rid of depression, the following herbal mixtures can be used:
Recipe 1: take in equal parts the herb of motherwort and cudweed, as well as hawthorn flowers and chamomile.
Recipe 2: take 3 parts of fireweed leaves, 2 parts of hawthorn fruits, chamomile flowers, hop cones, oregano herb, meadowsweet flowers, calamus root, nettle leaf and mint, 1 part of Jacob's ladder roots and dill seeds.
Recipe 3: take in equal parts the roots of sweet flag, peppermint herb, St. John's wort, medicinal sage, valerian roots and lemon balm herb.
Recipe 4: take 4 parts each of common rowan fruits and licorice roots, 3 parts of elecampane roots, 2 parts each of bergenia roots, sweet flag, wheatgrass and peony, 1 part each of aralia roots and Rhodiola rosea.
Recipe 5: in equal parts take walnut leaves, linden flowers, buckthorn bark, fennel fruits, peppermint leaves, wormwood herb.
From these recipes, choose the one that is more accessible (or you can alternate their use).
The recipe for using each mixture is the same: daily in the morning, pour boiling water over one tablespoon of some herbal mixture, leave for half an hour. Strain. How much boiling water to take for brewing – depends only on your health:
if you have a tendency to edema, then pour 0.25 liters of boiling water over the daily portion of the herbal mixture;
if there is no tendency to edema, then pour 0.5 liters of boiling water;
Drink this portion of the decoction in two or three divided doses.
When to take (before or after meals)?
First, take it before meals, on an empty stomach, and you can eat after that no earlier than in half an hour. If with such an intake of herbs there are no unpleasant sensations, then continue to take this decoction before meals. If after the first intakes you have unpleasant sensations in your stomach, then take the decoction about an hour after a meal.
Duration of treatment – take for three weeks, break - one week, after which again three weeks of intake.
If it is inconvenient to brew herbs daily, then you can make a vodka tincture once and be treated with it.
To overcome depression, insomnia, irritability, as well as to treat hypertension, tinnitus, headaches, consequences of a stroke and heart problems, it is necessary to be treated with Ginkgo biloba leaves and Caucasian dioscorea roots.
Recipe: 100.0 g of dry ginkgo leaves should be poured with a liter of vodka. Infuse for 2 weeks in a dark place, shaking daily. Strain. Take a teaspoon twice a day on an empty stomach, half an hour before meals.
And in parallel (simultaneously) with taking ginkgo, it is necessary to be treated with dioscorea tincture:
Pour 100.0 g of dioscorea roots with a liter of vodka. Infuse for 2 weeks, strain. Take a teaspoon 2 times a day after meals. Thus, before meals, take a tincture of ginkgo leaves, and after meals – a tincture from the dioscorea root. Treat for two months.
To consolidate the effect of such treatment, you can (but not necessarily) after the end of this course take sophora with mistletoe and Jacob's ladder.
Make such a mixture: take 10 grams of white mistletoe plant and 40 grams of Japanese sophora seeds. You will get 50 grams of the mixture. Pour 0.5 liters of vodka over it. Infuse for 2 weeks, shaking occasionally. Strain. Take a teaspoon 2 times a day (morning and evening) on an empty stomach, half an hour before meals.
And the tincture from Jacob's ladder is prepared and taken like this: pour 500 ml of vodka over 50.0 g of blue Jacob's ladder roots. Infuse for 2 weeks, then strain.
Take a teaspoon twice a day immediately after meals. Thus, twice a day before meals you take the tincture of sophora and mistletoe, and after meals – the tincture from the root of Jacob's ladder. The duration of treatment – two weeks.
These herbs will help you break free from depression and move on to a bright and joyful life: your blood pressure will return to normal, headaches and tinnitus will disappear, blood sugar and cholesterol will decrease, sleep will improve - you will become more cheerful and energetic.
